Journal Entry #7

Today, I interviewed a Hazel Jones and she gave me the most information about urban renewal than anyone else did. I also asked some questions for RJ and I got a really good person for you Garrote so you should come talk to me. Hazel told me about how Kodiak got 3 and a half percent of the money that was lost. She talked a bit about everything and it was definitely worth my time.

  1. Joong, this is great, but I would like to hear a little more about your experience. How have you grown as an interviewer? How have you learned to ask better questions? What did Hazel say specifically that was most compelling for you? Also, I don't see a blog post for the reading about Kodiak's villages (Kaguyak, Old Harbor, Akhiok). Let me know if I'm missing it. Thanks!

  2. I think I've grown as an interviewer a lot because I remember when I first started, I would just ask questions and get on with the next but now I have learned to actually have a converstaion at the appropriate time and when to stay silent. the thing Hazel said that gave me the most information was the loans that were distributed. She told me that three and a half percent of the money loss was given to Kodiak and Port Lions helped a lot with money.
